What Is MH CET Law?
MH CET Law is the state-level entrance exam for admission to 3-Year LLB and 5-Year Integrated LLB programs at law colleges affiliated with universities across Maharashtra. Conducted by the State CET Cell, it tests legal aptitude, reasoning, general knowledge, and English — with the 5-Year LLB paper including an additional Mathematics section, since it’s designed for students coming straight from Class 12.
Eligibility Criteria
For 5-Year LLB:
- Educational Qualification: Passed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognized board
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: 45% for General category, 42% for VJNT/SBC/OBC, 40% for SC/ST
- Age Limit: No specified upper age limit
For 3-Year LLB:
- Educational Qualification: Graduation degree from a recognized university
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: Category-wise percentage criteria similar in structure to the 5-Year LLB (confirm exact current-cycle figures against official notification)
- Age Limit: No specified upper age limit
(Always verify current-cycle qualifying percentages against the official notification, as these are reviewed periodically by the CET Cell.)

Frequently Asked Questions
Common Questions Before You Reach Out

Is there negative marking?
No, MH CET Law has no negative marking — each correct answer earns 1 mark.
Do I need prior legal knowledge to attempt the Legal Aptitude section?
No, the section tests reasoning and aptitude through legal scenarios — no formal legal background is required.
Is there a minimum qualifying cutoff to clear before counselling?
No separate cutoff — any candidate scoring above zero is eligible to participate in counselling and seat allotment, though a competitive score is still needed for a good college/seat.
